Sabine Mattern

Sabine Mattern is Director of Investor Relations at UVC Partners, a Munich- and Berlin-based early-stage VC backing European B2B startups, in close cooperation with UnternehmerTUM, Europe's leading startup hub.

UVC runs six funds. Four early-stage vehicles write first cheques of €0.5m to €10m. Two growth funds hold the winners through the later rounds, where ownership is decided. €815M across fifteen years, four unicorns in the last twelve months — Isar Aerospace and Proxima Fusion among them.

Sabine joined in 2019 and built the IR function. She runs the relationships with the institutional investors and family offices behind the funds, after sixteen years across startups, accelerators and public programmes in Europe, the US and Asia.

Her thesis is simple. Deep tech does not need capital that bets. It needs capital that builds, and stays ten years.
