Marvelous runs three engines. Ventures Fund I writes first cheques into science based spinouts from leading research institutions. The Catalyst connects them to 60+ industrial companies and 10+ research institutes and turns science into revenue. Marvelous Scito, a closed fund of funds with a single institutional LP - the Joachim Herz Foundation, completes the picture.
Chris built five startups and exited two. He was CIO at MDAX listed Hypoport and built the corporate venture arms of OBI and Vonovia among others.
His thesis is simple. Europe does not lack science. It lacks people who commercialise it.
