Tomoko Matsuoka is a Tokyo-based contemporary artist exploring the “Materialization of Will.” Her work visualizes the inner forces of human existence—will, impulse, and energy—and has been exhibited internationally, including Paris, Los Angeles, London, Seoul, and Ho Chi Minh City. After studying neuroscience at the University of Tokyo Graduate School and working at EY Japan, she gained experience in startups and venture capital before turning fully to art. Her practice spans exhibitions, live performances, and socially engaged projects, bridging art, philosophy, and society in the age of AI.

現代美術家東京を拠点に活動する現代美術家。テーマは「意志の具象化」。人間を形づくる内なる力—意志や衝動、エネルギー—を可視化する作品で、国内外から高い評価を受けている。これまでにパリ、ロサンゼルス、ロンドン、ソウル、ホーチミンなど世界各地で展示を行い、作品は大使館に収蔵されている。東京大学大学院で神経科学を研究後、EYに入社し、国の研究開発プロジェクト（JSTやNEDO）に参画する。VRやブロックチェーン領域のスタートアップ、ベンチャーキャピタルに転身。アプリ開発や「故人との対話」をテーマにした実験的プロジェクトを経て、芸術の道に転じた。AIやデジタル技術が人間の主体性を揺さぶる現代において、「人間の意志はいかに外部の力に翻弄されながらも自己を保持し、表現し得るのか」を作品を通して問いかけている。ライブパフォーマンス、社会活動に広がるその活動は、芸術と哲学、社会性を架橋するものである。
