Born in Yokohama in 1983. After graduating from high school, he moved to the United States to pursue a career as a musician and graduated from the Music Department of the School of Arts at Citrus College. After returning to Japan, he made his CD debut. Inspired by his experiences in the U.S., he started a business, but later went through bankruptcy and business transfer. These experiences led him to renew his philosophy, believing that “the mission of a company is to contribute to everything it touches.”

In 2007, he founded Diamond Media Co., Ltd. From the outset, he systematized management transparency, adopting unique practices such as: “disclosing all salaries, expenses, and financial statements,” “abolishing positions and titles,” “freedom in working hours, location, and holidays,” “encouraging entrepreneurship and side businesses,” and “electing executives and representatives.” This distinctive philosophy of “management without management” attracted attention as a next-generation corporate model.

In 2017, the company received the White Company Award. As a leading figure in Japan on decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), teal organizations, and holacracy management, he has contributed to media, given lectures, and provided organizational support. In 2018, he coined the term “Jinen (Natural) Management” and established the General Incorporated Association for Natural Management Research. His work extends beyond organizational theory, focusing on themes such as “self-organization, circular economy, and interconnectedness,” and he has engaged in extensive research and activities aimed at realizing new forms of society—such as sustainable social systems, economies beyond monetary exchange, and updates to democracy.

He has also dedicated efforts to promoting DX (digital transformation) in the real estate sector, founding the Real Estate Tech Association of Japan in 2018 and serving as its first representative director. He has also held positions including: Director of the Living Tech Association, Steering Committee Member of the IT Division at the Japan Property Management Association, Advisor to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Public Real Estate Utilization Project, and Committee Member of the Housing Ground Information Promotion Council.

As a co-executive of eumo, a nonprofit company that operates a community currency platform founded by Kazuhiko Arai, co-founder of Kamakura Investment Trust, he is engaged in new financial systems. At the same time, he manages numerous for-profit and nonprofit organizations working on SDGs, organizational development, wellbeing, fair trade, ethical consumption, regional energy, regional revitalization, and agricultural DAOs.

In community activities in Setagaya, he serves as a board member of the NPO neomura, supporting local festivals, cleanup initiatives, agricultural communities, and the issuance and circulation of urban community currencies. In 2019, he was also selected as an evangelist for Setagaya Ward’s hometown tax donation campaign.

高校卒業後ミュージシャンを志し渡米、Citrus College芸術学部音楽学科を卒業。帰国後にCDデビュー。アメリカでの体験から起業するも、倒産・事業売却を経験。

「関わるもの全てに貢献することが企業の使命」と考えを新たにし、2007年にダイヤモンドメディア株式会社を創業。

会社設立時より経営の透明性をシステム化。「給与・経費・財務諸表を全て公開」「役職・肩書を廃止」「働く時間・場所・休みは自由」「起業・副業を推奨」「代表・役員は選挙で決める」といった独自の「管理しないマネジメント思想」は次世代型企業として注目を集める。 2017年には「ホワイト企業大賞」を受賞。

ティール組織・ホラクラシー経営等、自律分散型組織（DAO）の日本における第一人者としてメディアへの寄稿・講演・組織支援などを行う。2018年にはこれらの経営を「自然（じねん）経営」と称して一般社団法人自然経営研究会を設立。

組織論に留まらず、「自律分散・循環経済・重なり合い」をキーワードに、持続可能な社会システムや貨幣経済以外の経済圏、民主主義のアップデートなど、社会の新しい在り方を実現するための研究・活動を多数行なっている。

不動産領域におけるDX推進活動にも尽力し、2018年に一般社団法人不動産テック協会を設立、初代代表理事を務める。一般社団法人LIVING TECH協会理事、公益財団法人日本賃貸住宅管理協会IT部会幹事、国土交通省公益遊休不動産活用プロジェクトアドバイザー、住宅地盤情報普及促進委員会委員などを歴任。

鎌倉投信共同創業者の新井和宏氏が立ち上げたコミュニティ通貨のプラットフォームを運営する非営利株式会社eumoの共同経営者として新しい金融に関わりながら、SDGs、組織開発、ウェルビーイング、フェアトレード、エシカル消費、地域エネルギー、地方創生、農業DAO等、多数の営利非営利団体の経営を行う。

世田谷における地域活動ではNPO法人neomuraの理事として地域のお祭りや清掃活動、地域の農コミュニティ、都市型地域通貨の発行流通などを行う。2019年世田谷区ふるさと納税キャンペーンのエバンジェリストにも選出される。
