Jeffrey Char is a serial entrepreneur and investor specializing in sustainable energy systems. As Founder & CEO of SOGO Energy, he brings renewable energy solutions to rural communities in Asia and Africa, powering infrastructure such as irrigation. He also founded TRENDE, a leading renewable energy retailer accelerating the energy transition in Japan, and leads J-Seed Ventures, an early-stage investment firm.Jeff serves on the boards of Nesma Company in Saudi Arabia and Equatorial Power in Africa, both advancing renewable energy and infrastructure. He is also an advocate for next-generation geothermal technologies, building coalitions to accelerate its global deployment.A passionate educator, Jeff teaches entrepreneurship and venture financing in MBA programs at top business schools across Europe and Asia, including Sasin School of Management in Bangkok. Previously, he was Director of Corporate Venture Capital at Tokyo Electric Power Company, and has successfully founded and exited multiple ventures in tech and energy.Earlier in his career, Jeff practiced law in Silicon Valley and worked as a securities analyst in Tokyo. He studied business and law at Sophia University, UC Berkeley School of Law, and Harvard Law School.
