Investment Manager at Genesia Ventures

Born into a family of cucumber farmers, Yuki Tsuchioka was raised in an environment that nurtured a deep appreciation for nature and food. At the age of 13, Yuki was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, sparking a lifelong interest in science through self-managing blood sugar levels. Yuki pursued life sciences at university, focusing on taste research, and during graduate school, joined the Food Research Division of the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (formerly the National Food Research Institute), working on the development of rice grains resilient to climate change while maintaining exceptional flavor.
In 2016, Yuki began her career at Novo Nordisk, a global pharmaceutical company, as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA). In this role, she contributed to global clinical trials for diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases, supporting new drug development and the expansion of therapeutic indications.
In January 2021, Yuki founded Health Table, leading initiatives in new business development and menu innovation within the science and health sectors. Concurrently, she collaborated with Wellmira Inc., a healthcare venture, driving clinical research for an AI health management app and facilitating joint research projects with universities and companies.
In spring 2025, Yuki completed the NEDO Technology Startup Supporters Academy (SSA) and joined Genesia Ventures, where she focuses on investing in and supporting research-driven startups. Yuki holds a Master’s degree in Agriculture from the Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Tsukuba.
