Mari Sekino

CEO/Founder of QERA

Mari Sekino, Ph.D., began her career as a researcher in theoretical quantum physics, a discipline that proposes new ways of understanding the principles of the world. This lens — seeing underlying structures and reframing assumptions — continues to shape how she thinks about technology and society.
Over the past decade, she has designed and led strategy and innovation programs across diverse industries, including mobility, fintech, manufacturing, and ESG. Unlike many consultants who specialize in one sector, Mari has consistently worked across boundaries, allowing her to identify patterns and structural shifts that others often overlook. Her projects have ranged from digital payment platforms in emerging markets, to electric vehicle and smart logistics systems, to ESG frameworks that link sustainability with business value. Through these experiences, she has helped companies rethink business models, redesign value chains, and adapt to rapidly evolving ecosystems.
Her current focus is on how artificial intelligence and quantum technologies are driving structural transformation. These technologies are not simply tools of efficiency but forces that challenge the foundations of existing business models and social systems. She combines her background in physics and strategy to explore how decision-making, market participation, and organizational design are being reconfigured — and what new forms of structure may define the future of business and society.
