Prior to joining Gojo, Kohei served as Senior Vice President of Finance at SmartNews, Inc., where he played a crucial role in raising $80 million in equity financing and oversaw financial control, accounting, recruiting, people operations, legal, and investor relations. As CFO of LIFENET INSURANCE COMPANY, he led its successful $100 million IPO in 2012 and established a joint venture in Korea. Kohei began his career at Morgan Stanley Japan in M&A advisory and later worked as an investment analyst at Och-Ziff Capital Management in Hong Kong. He holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Tokyo and was inspired by microfinance during an internship at PROSHIKA in Bangladesh.
